50 White And Black Farmhouse Dresser 2019

I'm back with another piece that I worked on in the month of January. I bought this vintage oak dresser from a person via Craigslist. Once I brought it home I knew exactly what I wanted to do to it.

I sanded it, and sealed it inside and out twice with shellac drawers and everything because it had a cigarette smell. Now, I didn't notice this when I bought it, otherwise I would have passed. Then I sanded it again and proceeded to paint it with chalk paint.

The top section was curved and I wanted to accent that feature, which is why I went with the two tone. Black on top and white on the bottom. I purchased small, white knobs for the two top drawers and contrasting black ones on the bottom. The inside of the drawers had seen better days so I added a modern liner. I sealed this piece with wax for a soft buttery feel.

Finally, I'm going to share the kitchen cabinet makeover reveal! It took us a lot longer than we expected to get this done. But we are finally putting the paint brushes and the rollers down. Lining Shelves With Contact Paper

It all started when I wanted to drink a cup of tea! Now what does drinking a cup of tea and lining shelves with contact paper have to do with each other, you ask! Well the cabinet was overstuffed and when I reached out for the tea box, it and other miscellaneous stuff fell out of the cabinet. I thought to myself, while the water for my tea simmers I can quickly empty out the cabinet and reorganize it, it's just a small cabinet it wont take more than 5 minutes, right? Wrong, wrong, wrong! Our new house has a spare room that we use daily to enter the house and where we greet all of our visitors since it is our main entrance. It quickly became a catch all room where we would just dump everything we didn't want to deal with at the moment. That was a really big problem and it was stressing me out.
